I am aware that some people may not know what a podcast is. Well, a podcast is sort of like radio, except it comes out in episodes and you can listen whenever you want. In this blog, I’m going to share with you my top six favorite podcasts and a few others. Without further ado here you go!

Six Minutes is an audio drama by GZM shows or Gen Z media. This company produces my favorite podcasts. The episodes are short and sweet, lasting around six minutes, much like the name implies. This show follows the Andrews family on their adventures after they discover something miraculous floating in the water on a whale watching trip. Each episode ends with a cliffhanger that makes you want to listen to the next one. This show is great for all ages, but probably best for older elementary and middle schoolers (so basically, if you’re generation Z these shows are perfect for you.) It is also the most downloaded audio drama in history! And with four seasons to boast of I cannot stress enough how great the show is. So pop it open and start at episode one!

Oh my gosh, this podcast represents childhood and youth for me. The Story Pirates are a team of actors who take stories that real kids have written and turn them into sketch comedy and songs. They are hilarious. There are six seasons packed full of hilarious adventures, stories and songs with episodes of around 20 minutes long. It’s one of the best kid podcasts out there. It is directed towards younger kids, but even I, as a 14 year old, still find it’s comedy funny. So go check it out on your next road trip, sit back, relax and enjoy that hilarious ride with The Story Pirates.

Myths and Legends is a podcast from Next Pod that tells the stories of, well, myths and legends, as well as folklore and some classics. I find it extremely funny and it’s a really nice way to catch up on your folklore without it feeling dull or like a history lesson. This show is probably better for older kids and adults. There isn’t really anything too bad about it as long as you stay away from the disclaimer episodes, though the comedy is probably just better for more mature people.

Terrestrials is a podcast from Radiolab. It is so interesting and fascinating. Some of the episodes are bits of Radiolab that are appropriate for kids, and some are Terrestrial episodes, which have miraculous stories of our earth, and even some fun songs that totally get stuck in your head. This is truly a podcast for all ages, it is just wonderful and informational. Just plain great.

This is another podcast from Next Pod, and the creators of Myths and Legends. They go into some of the fascinating, forgotten villains of history. Honestly, I don’t know how these people didn’t make an appearance in textbooks. They’re incredibly wicked and wonderfully horrendous. For people who like true crime and history this is certainly one to listen to. Like their other podcast, this is probably for a little bit older kids, older primary school, middle school and up.
6: Stories, RPG

Stories, RPG is a podcast about role-playing games and RPG’s. It’s super fun! This show comes out biweekly and you always want to know what happens next. It is the sister podcast to another really good one for younger kids which is called Stories Podcast. The host of, Michael Lowe, teaches role-playing classes to help kids write so that’s also really cool. This is definitely for fans of Dungeons and Dragons and really, any good fantasy lover would very much enjoy this podcast, so check it out!

You’ve already heard me talk about Six Minutes, the podcast from Gen Z media, but I could go on and on about all of their other shows. I am just obsessed with their content but here are some of my favorites:
Winnie Taylor’s fourth and inches a podcast for any good sports lover,
The Unexplainable Disappearance of Mars Patel a thrilling mystery,
Tomorrow, the Continued Adventures of Annie Warbucks, a wonderful musical mystery with all of your favorite characters from the original musical and some new ones,
Mina and Lucy’s Guide to Slaying Dracula this one’s just plain funny and perfect for Halloween,
and last, but certainly not least,
Nightingale heartfelt story with which, if you do not cry, then you have a heart of stone.
So there you have it, Dayli‘s top six podcasts for all ages. I hope you try a couple. Maybe on your ride to work or school? Maybe you’ll put one on while you’re doing your chores? Whatever you choose to do or not do with this list. I hope that I have given you some fun new things to try.
Bye for now and as always, thank you.
